Department of AI/ML Engineering

The Department of AI/ML Engineering was established in the year 2021 with a vision to apply AI/ML Skill at various levels like IT knowledge, managerial skills and technical advancements and hence to address the demanding needs of IT industries and R&D sectors. The department is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). The Department offers a four years Bachelor degree programme. The Bachelor's programme will help our students for their productive careers in industry, academia, research and government sectors. The Bachelor program of AI/ML will help to utilize the concept of Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning,deep learning in innovative research areas such as Defence Sector, Data science, Pattern Recognition, Image Processing, Data Mining, Database Systems, Network Security, Mobile Communication, Bioinformatics, Parallel Processing, Cloud Computing, Big Data, Hadoop,Block chaining, DevOps and other related areas. To strengthen these research activities, the department has established a well setup of Research and Development Laboratories. The department faculty members have established themselves in nationally and internationally recognized research programs, including those of interdisciplinary nature.

We AIML@PACE are strongly committed to impart innovative and quality technical education with high standards. Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning is a diverse field which has a significant role in the development of cutting-edge technology. Our mission is to enable students to become leaders in the industry and academia nationally and internationally in multidisciplinary area of AI ML.

AI ML covers a wide spectrum of emerging fields like Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Speech/ Signal Processing, Embedded Systems, Intelligent Algorithms, Pattern Recognition, Data Mining and Big-Data Analytics. Our Team of qualified and experienced faculty makes students skilled in the above-mentioned areas along with their regular curriculum.

In addition to the curriculum, more emphasis is placed on enriching the students learning, experience by providing value added courses, Application development programs, Skill development programs, Technical and cultural competitions, Certification courses, Workshops, Hackathon at all levels including state, national and international platforms.

Department of AI ML @PACE strives hard to meet pressing demands in AI ML by making students technically competent at the global level and be industry ready in 4 years of their course. We encourage and intend their innovative ideas / projects / models / systems and make them realize the importance of ethics and human values.

  • Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations
  • Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  • Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics, responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  • Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
