Recruitment Awareness Program by Indian Coast Guard

On 13th February 2025, the Training and Placement Department, in collaboration with the ISTE PACE Chapter and the Mechanical Engineering Association of P. A. College of Engineering, organized an insightful Indian Coast Guard Recruitment Awareness Program in Multipurpose Hall, P. A. College of Engineering. The session was conducted to provide 3rd-year engineering students with valuable information regarding the Indian Coast Guard recruitment process, career opportunities, eligibility criteria, and various roles within the organization.
The main objective of the program was to enlighten students about the recruitment process, career growth, and the opportunities available within the Indian Coast Guard. The session aimed to clarify the selection procedures and the scope of a career in the Indian Coast Guard, thus helping students make informed decisions about their career paths.
The session was led by Mr. K.V. Bonymon, Commandant JG, who served as the primary resource person. He was accompanied by Mr. Mohammad Rasid, Sahayak Engineer. Mr. Bonymon gave a comprehensive introduction to the Indian Coast Guard, emphasizing its crucial role in national security, safeguarding the countrys coastline, and enforcing maritime law. Detailed information was provided about the recruitment process for various roles in the Indian Coast Guard. Mr. Bonymon explained the eligibility criteria for different positions and outlined the stages involved in the selection process, including written exams, physical tests, and medical evaluations. The session highlighted the diverse career opportunities available for engineers and technical personnel in the Coast Guard. Insight was shared regarding career progression within the Indian Coast Guard and the opportunities available for professional development and specialization. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, where students had the opportunity to ask questions. The resource persons provided detailed answers, helping students better understand how to prepare for recruitment and what to expect in the selection process.
The event was met with great enthusiasm from the students, who expressed strong interest in the career opportunities within the Indian Coast Guard. The session provided them with a clear understanding of the recruitment process and various career paths, bridging the gap between academic education and career opportunities in the defence and maritime sector.
The event began with a preamble and welcome address by Prof. C.V. Pujar, followed by thoughts shared Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Sayyed Ameen Ahammed. Principal Dr. Ramis M K motivated the students and also explained the various career opportunities. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Prof. Mohammad Hussain K, the Training and Placement Officer (TPO). Special thanks are due to Prof. Navaneeth IM, Prof. Kiran Kumar, Dr. Abdul Razak, and Mr. Abdul Haseed from the Mechanical Engineering Department for their valuable support and contributions: The event was meticulously organized by Prof. C.V.
