World Earth Day and World Water Day Celebration

The Department of Civil Engineering, P. A. College of Engineering, Mangalore, in association with the Environmental Cell, celebrated World Earth Day and World Water Day on April 22, 2025. Over 200 students from various departments of PACE participated in the event.
The event was held in the B-20 Classroom of the Civil Block and was coordinated by Prof. Kavya and Prof. Jameela. The program commenced with a warm welcome by Mr. Mubarish. Dr. Praveen Suvarna emphasized the importance of earth and water, setting the tone for the event. This was followed by a technical talk on "The Hot Planet" by Dr. Palakshappa K, Head of the Civil Department.
To commemorate World Water Day and Earth Day, the department organized a range of engaging competitions including technical quizzes, poster-making, and video-making contests. These activities attracted enthusiastic participation and showcased the talents of the students.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Sabeel. Mr. Thoufeeq then announced the list of winners from the various competitions. The celebration was a resounding success, reflecting the commitment of the department to fostering environmental awareness and sustainable practices. The department looks forward to organizing similar initiatives in the future.
