Interactive Session on Tools for Advanced Technical Projects & Research

On May 24, 2024, the Department of Electronics and Communication at P. A. College of Engineering, in collaboration with the Ignited Minds of Electronics Club and MTTS, hosted an interactive session on "Tools for Advanced Technical Projects & Research." The session was led by Dr. Shoaib Kamal, HOD (Dept. of ECE) cum Associate Dean (R&I) at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Dr. Kamal discussed the distinctions between projects and products, introduced Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs), and highlighted essential tools for research and project management. These tools included Kaggle for data science competitions, GitHub for version control and code hosting, GanttPRO for visual project scheduling, Trello for task management, and Bit.ai for collaborative document creation. He also presented Mendeley for organizing and managing research literature, and emphasized the importance of tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity.ai. Also iThenticate, and Turnitin for detecting and managing plagiarism. The session underscored the importance of integrating these advanced tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, foster collaboration, and ensure the quality and integrity of research projects. Dr. Kamal provided practical demonstrations and engaged with the attendees through interactive discussions, making the session both informative and engaging.
