Unmanned Vehicles: Transforming the Future of Aerial Systems

On March 18, 2025, the Mechanical Engineering Department of P.A. College of Engineering organized the Mechanical Engineering Association (MEA) Inauguration, and a Technical Talk titled “Unmanned Vehicles: Transforming the Future of Aerial Systems” under the banner of the ISTE PACE Chapter and ASME. The event was attended by mechanical engineering students from the 6th and 4th semesters, aiming to provide valuable insights into emerging technologies and their applications.
The program began with Mr. Mohd Afham from the 4th semester serving as the Master of Ceremony, effectively setting the tone for the event. The Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Dr. Prashanth Pai M, addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of value-added courses and how staying updated with cutting-edge technologies like drone systems can enhance students career prospects.
Following the HOD’s address, the official Mechanical Engineering Association inauguration was conducted by the Principal of P. A. College of Engineering, Dr. Ramis M K, and the Chief Guest, Mr. Mithul Das, by playing a video showcasing the associations activities and future goals.
The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Mithul Das, an experienced Aeronautical Engineer. He provided valuable insights into the growing importance of drone technology and its applications in industries such as defense, agriculture, and logistics. He also shared his professional experiences in working with industrial drones, offering students a practical understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the field.
In his presidential remarks, the Principal, Dr. Ramis M K, emphasized the importance of staying updated with advanced technologies and encouraged students to actively participate in the Auto, Aero, CFD, and Robotics Clubs to enhance their technical knowledge and skills.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Shihan, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, and participants for their support in making the event a success.
Overall, the program was highly informative and well-received, providing students with valuable knowledge and inspiration to explore new career opportunities in the field of mechanical engineering.
