"CODE & CREATE – From Simulation to Reality", A 3-days workshop on Arduino and Tinker cad basics.

Feb 25, 2025 - Feb 28, 2025

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at P. A. College of Engineering, Mangalore, successfully conducted a three-day workshop titled "CODE & CREATE - From Simulation to Reality" under the banner of the Ignited Minds of Electronics (IME) Club. The workshop, held from February 25 to February 28, excluding February 26, aimed to provide second-year EC students with a strong foundation in Arduino and Tinkercad.

The sessions took place in the Computer Lab and Hardware Lab, guided by resource persons Mr. Shailendra and Ms. Munazza Begum, both final-year EC students. They were supported by student coordinators Ms. Swathi (4th year EC), Ms. Nikitha K R, Ms. Vikahitha, and Ms. Charitha Jain (3rd year EC). The event was organized under the guidance of faculty coordinators Dr. Asia Hazareena and Prof. Mohammed Saleem, who played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of the workshop.

Workshop Highlights:
Day 1: The workshop began with an introduction to hardware basics, covering various sensors, actuators, and other essential components used in embedded systems. A live demonstration helped students understand their practical applications.
Day 2: Participants were introduced to Arduino fundamentals, including programming, uploading codes, and interfacing with components. They also learned how to simulate projects using Tinkercad, making it easier to visualize and test circuits before implementation.
Day 3: The final day focused on hands-on project building using Arduino. The resource persons explained and demonstrated multiple Arduino-based projects, encouraging students to explore innovative ideas. The session concluded with a quiz competition to test participants’ understanding.

The valedictory function was held on February 28 at 3:00 PM in Lecture Hall 24. Dignitaries present included Dr. Ramis M K (Principal, PACE), Dr. Asif Hassan (HOD-EC), Dr. Asia Hazareena, and Prof. Mohammed Saleem. The Principal emphasized the importance of project-based learning and encouraged students to apply their newly acquired skills in real-world applications.

Students provided positive feedback, expressing appreciation for the workshop’s interactive and practical approach. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes to the quiz winners and certificates to the resource persons, student coordinators, and staff coordinators.

This workshop successfully bridged the gap between theoretical learning and hands-on implementation, equipping students with essential skills for embedded system development.
