On 4th August, 2023, from 9:15 am to 10:45 am, a technical talk on "Generative AI for Education: An Overview" was organized by the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) in association with IEEE, EMBS, AESS, and FESA at the E-learning Centre of P A College of Engineering, Mangalore for First year students. The event was welcomed and introduced by Mr. Sahil Fardeen, a 4th semester Mechanical engineering student.

The distinguished speaker for the talk was Dr. Saif Abrar, an Advisory System Engineer at IBM. Dr. Saif Abrar provided a comprehensive overview of artificial intelligence and its recent advancements, focusing on generative AI technologies. During the talk, he also demonstrated the practical application of Chat GPT, showcasing its capabilities and potential in the field of education.

The technical talk proved to be highly interesting and interactive, enabling the participants to engage in discussions about the cutting-edge developments in the Chat GPT application and its relevance in the educational domain.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ramis M. K., the Principal, emphasized the importance of adopting new technologies for innovative learning. He motivated the students to embrace the opportunities provided by AI and other emerging technologies to enhance their educational journey.

The event was well-attended, with the presence of Prof. Majeed, the HOD of the first-year department, along with several faculty members from various departments of the college.

Dr. Maruthi Prashanth B H expressed a formal vote of thanks to Dr. Saif Abrar and all the participants for making the event successful. The resource person, Dr. Saif Abrar, was honoured with a memento, presented by Dr. Ramis M. K., as a token of appreciation.
