Panel Discussion: Design & Development of Indigenous Devices for Health Care

A panel discussion on indigenous health care device design was held on August 19, 2023, at Board room of PACE. Medical experts, technologists, and academics joined to address healthcare challenges through technology.
Dr. Mohammed Misbahuddin of C-DAC and Mr. Shahanawaz Khan of Funambolo Technologies discussed the potential of collaboration between medical and engineering fields. Challenges like AI implementation cost and health informatics were explored. Problem statements related to medical device development and disease detection were presented. Support for incubation and indigenous manufacturing solutions were proposed. The meeting decided to further explore, the several problem statements, in an upcoming physical meeting, tentatively in Mangalore. The event ended with a vote of thanks from Dr. Krishna Prasad N.
