The Orientation Day Program at P.A College Of Engineering on September 11, 2023 was a warm and welcoming event for the incoming batch of engineering students. It aimed to introduce students to the colleges vibrant community, its abundant resources, and the esteemed faculty who would guide their academic journey. More than just an introduction, it was a platform for students to connect with each other, fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie.

The program opened with a heartfelt invocation by Mr. Rizwan, setting a reflective tone for the day. Dr. Mitra K. extended a warm welcome to both students and their families, emphasizing the exciting journey that awaited them and encouraging them to make the most of their time at the college.

Prof. Abdul Majeed, Head of the First Year Department, provided valuable insights into the curriculum, course structure, and academic expectations, offering students a clear roadmap for their educational endeavours. Dr. Surfraz Hashim shared inspiring anecdotes about resilience, passion, and the pursuit of success, motivating the young minds to overcome challenges fearlessly.

Dr. Syed Ameen addressed practical matters like transportation and hostel facilities while also stressing the importance of parental support and mentorship. Mr. Faizal, Head of the Career Planning and Outreach Department (CPOD), underlined the significance of career guidance, certification courses, and up-skilling, reflecting the colleges commitment to holistic student development.

Dr. Sharmila Kumari highlighted the strength of the mentor-mentee relationship and encouraged students to actively engage in real-world projects through Project-based Learning (PBL). Her emphasis on a well-rounded education resonated with the audience.

Dr. Ramis MK, in his presidential remarks, delved into academic parameters, the transparent CIE assessment system, interdisciplinary course options, and the pursuit of BE Honours, inspiring the incoming class of 2023 to become multidimensional individuals with strong ethical values.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Prof. Vittal Bhat, expressing gratitude on behalf of the entire college community. Throughout the event, Fathimath Raihan expertly hosted, ensuring a smooth and engaging experience for everyone.
