Opportunities for Advanced Studies in Civil Engineering

As part of the PACE Alumni Conclave, the Department of Civil Engineering at P.A. College of Engineering (PACE) organized an insightful session on “Opportunities for Advanced Studies in Civil Engineering” on 20th February 2025 at 11:30 PM in the MBA GD Room.
Dr .Praveen Suvarna addressed the gathering with his motivational words and emphasise the importance of competitive exams for higher education and for the job.
The session featured Ms. Absana, an alumnus of PACE, currently pursuing an M.Tech in Structural Engineering at NMAM Institute of Technology (NMAMIT). The event aimed to provide students with guidance on higher education opportunities, importance competitive exams such as GATE, IELTS, TOFFEL and its career prospects, the benefits of pursuing higher education in civil engineering.
The event was aimed for third and fourth semester students. The session began with a formal welcome, followed by Ms. Absana’s presentation on:
• The significance of higher education in civil engineering.
• Various postgraduate opportunities available in India and abroad.
• The application process, eligibility criteria, and scholarship opportunities.
• Career advancements and research prospects after an M.Tech.
The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating in discussions and asking questions about specializations, universities, and funding options. Ms. Absana emphasized the importance of continuous learning, research, and skill development for aspiring civil engineers.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof.Safa Sanah appreciating Ms. Absana’s insights and encouragement for students to explore advanced education in civil engineering.
This session provided a valuable roadmap for students interested in higher studies, helping them make informed decisions about their academic and professional future.
