On 21st February 2025, Ms. Aditi Naik, an alumna of P A College of Engineering and Data Engineer at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, delivered a technical talk on “Data Engineering: The Future of Data-Driven Innovation – Career Paths and Growth Prospects.” The event, part of the PACE NEXT Alumni Conclave, was attended by over 200+ students and 10+ faculty members.
Ms. Aditi Naik reflected on her time at P. A. College of Engineering and how the colleges environment and faculty guidance contributed to her career. She then delved into key aspects of data engineering, including data pipelines, ETL processes, and cloud technologies, emphasizing their importance in data-driven decision-making. She also highlighted how AI and ML integration are transforming industries.
One standout moment was when Ms. Aditi Naik shared her entrepreneurial journey, discussing her attempt to launch a startup inspired by Zomato. Despite the challenges leading to its closure, she spoke about the importance of resilience and learning from failures—lessons that resonated with aspiring entrepreneurs in the audience.
Ms. Naik discussed career prospects in data engineering, stressing the importance of mastering languages like Python and SQL, as well as big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark. She also emphasized the growing role of cloud platforms.
The session concluded with Ms. Naik advising students on the value of continuous learning, project involvement, and networking to enhance their career growth.
The event was a great success, providing practical insights into data engineering and strengthening the alumni-student connection. It served as a motivational platform for students aiming to excel in the field.
