Chemistry is an experimental science. Ideas explored in the classroom come to life when tested in the laboratory. At PACE, students strive to understand the nature of the chemical world around them. Chemistry students ask themselves a variety of questions: Why do chemical reactions occur? How do they occur? What are the fundamental theories that lie behind chemical reactions? How can we make use of these reactions in our everyday world?

Our department has well qualified and dedicated staff members and technical staff. The department has been maintaining excellent results in both theory and practical examinations since establishment of the college. The staff members play multifaceted role of a teacher, mentor and friend. They involve themselves in the welfare activities of the students.

We at our department appreciate the intellectual excellence and creativity of the students and more importantly truthfulness, sincerity, gentleness and faith in god.

Chemistry Lab

The chemistry department has very good infrastructure with a working area of 2000 plus sq ft consisting chemistry laboratory and solution preparation room. The department has a VTU recognized research centre which has got a separate research laboratory with modern equipments and it offers Ph.D and M.Sc (Engg) by research degrees in the chemistry and related fields. The Department maintains a wide array of sophisticated instrumentation necessary for modern chemical analysis. Among department instruments are Spectrophotometer/ colorimeter, Rotary evaporator, pH meter, Conductivity meter, potentiometer, Water deionizer plant, distillation plant, Lyophiliser, melting point apparatus, Hot air oven, deep freezer, Autoclave, Centrifuge, Flame Photometer Water bath/ Oil bath etc.
