The Research Scholars and Supervisors at the 8 different Research Centres of P.A.College of Engineering attended the meeting conducted, on 13 January, 2023 Friday at the PACE Board Room. Honourable Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Registrar Evaluation and other Officials of VTU addressed the audience and answered the various queries of the Research Scholars on an online mode.
Department of Botany, Savitribai Phule Pune University organized a webinar on "Exploratory Data Analytics of Biological Data" on 11th July 2020 at 11.30 a.m. Dr. Zahid Ansari (Dean Research, PAET) was invited as the resource person for this webinar. The webinar started with a welcome address by Prof. A. B. Ade, Head, Department of Botany, SSPU, in which he introduced the resource person to the audience. In this webinar, Dr. Zahid Ansari, demonstrated the use of popular R programming software for biological data manipulation, visualization and exploratory data analysis. The primary audience of this webinar were the Ph. D. research scholars and faculty members of Life Sciences. Since many other interested audiences also joined, the number of participants exceeded 100. The session was very well received, participants gave very positive feedback and requested for a hands-on workshop in future. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. A. B. Nadaf, Professor Department of Botany and coordinator of this program

Dr. Zahid Ansari (Dean Research, PAET) was invited as a resource person for the first two days of a one-week national level FDP on “Recent Trends in Data Science”, organized by Theem College of Engineering, Boisar, Mumbai, in association with IQAC, Computer Society of India (CSI) and The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) Student Chapters from July 1 to 5, 2020. Dr. Zahid Ansari conducted four sessions of the FDP on various aspects of “Data Analytics Using R Programming Language”. Apart from the first introductory session, all other sessions were hands-on using “R Studio Integrated Development Environment”. The number of registered participants exceeded 600. All the sessions were very well received, and participants gave a very positive feedback.
Dr. Zahid Ansari, Professor CSE and Dean Research, PAET delivered a webinar on 'Data Analytics using R' on 27th June 2020. The purpose of the webinar was to enable the participants get started with the “Data Manipulations and Visualizations” on R Studio platform with the help of hands on examples. Around 170 participants were present. The Participants were students as well as faculty members from P.A. College of Engineering and various other colleges. Webinar was coordinated by Prof. Mohammed Hafeez M K, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Dr. M Sharmila Kumari, Head of CSE Department welcomed and introduced the Resource Person.
A 2 days workshop on “Programming using Python- Fundamentals and Beyond” was conducted by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Bearys Institute of Technology, Mangalore on 13th and 14th March 2020. The workshop was conducted for students of Department of Computer Science & Engineering and interested Faculty members. Dr. Zahid Ansari (Dean Research, PAET) was invited as the main resource person along with Prof. Asif Afzal (Assoc. Professor, Mechanical Engineering) for the 2 day workshop. The workshop was mainly to cover the fundamentals of Python programming and to brief its essence of multi-threading, GUI, etc. Apart from the first key-note session by Dr. Zahid Ansari, all the sessions of the workshop were hands-on. The students were 80 in number and the sessions were very interactive. The program ended with valedictory function in the presence of honorable BIT chairman Syed Beary.

It is suggested to include research-oriented programs/activities conducted by any department under the banner of CERIE. Research Interested Groups (RIG) and individual faculty members are advised to set publication targets and also targets for applying to various research funding schemes. Dr. Ramis M.K Vice Principal, PACE emphasized on the need to incorporate a process for the timely updation of the research related activities in the centralized database.
