TECH TALK ON IOT SECURITY VULNERABILITIES AND CHALLENGES

Tech talk on IoT Security Vulnerabilities and Challenges was organized by Embed Club in Association with IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, IEEE Women in Engineering and ARM Embedded Technologies, Bangalore for students of Department of Computer Science and Engineering, P. A. College of Engineering on 30/10/2023.
The resource person for the Tech Talk was Mr. Uma Maheshwari Ramalingam from Arm Ltd., Bangalore. Uma Ramalingam is a Principal Engineer at Arm with 20 years of industry experience in Arm Microcontroller architecture and Cortex-M processors. In her two-decade long tenure, she has worked in multiple spectrums of Cortex-M processors starting from Processor Architecture & Verification, RTL simulation, System Hardware integration to Enabling Partners for their Software applications. She has worked on multiple Cortex-M processors ranging from Cortex-M0, Cortex-M3, Cortex-M4, Cortex-M7, Cortex-M33 to Cortex-M85. She holds US patent for her contributions in Microcontroller Security”.
The event started promptly at the designated time, with a warm welcome to all attendees. The resource person initiated the presentation with a comprehensive overview of IoT security, highlighting its growing importance in the modern technological landscape. Prof Habeeb Ur Rehman and Prof Mohammed Saifuddin were the staff coordinator and Mr. Mohammed Azlan and Mr. Muad Bin Mohammed Ali were the student coordinator for the event.

Arm Trust-Zone technology
IoT Security Challenges: Addressing vulnerabilities and risks associated with IoT devices.
Real-world examples of IoT security breaches and their implications.
Strategies and best practices for securing IoT devices and networks.
The presentation was followed by an interactive Q&A session, allowing students to ask questions and seek clarifications on the topics discussed.
