The Department of Biotechnology, under the Biotek PACE (P.A College of Engineering) Forum, organized World AIDS Day on December 1, 2023, at the Multipurpose Hall, P. A. College of Engineering-Mangalore. Dr. Ramis M. K., Principal-PACE, along with Dr. Sharmila Kumari, Vice Principal, Dr. Prasthanth Pai, Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Dr. Manjula, HoD, Department of AIML, graced the occasion. 

The event commenced with an invocation by Ms. Fida, President of Biotek PACE forum, followed by a welcome speech from Dr. Krishna Prasad N., Head-Department of Biotechnology. In the welcome address, Dr. Krishna Prasad beautifully presented the theme of the day, "Let the Community Lead". Dr. Ramis M.K in his presidential address, emphasized treating infected individuals with empathy, urging the community to avoid isolation and embrace them as normal human beings. Emphasizing the importance of integrity, he suggested adhering to laws and limitations, set by a higher power to prevent such diseases, concluding with the phrase, "Hate Disease but not the Diseased". 

Certificates were presented to the winners of the AIDS Day Poster Competition held on November 29, 2023. The Department Magazine was released by Prof. Laila Jaseela A., Asst. Professor, Dept. of Biotechnology. Later quiz was conducted by Prof. Shabeeba V, in order to create awareness about AIDS. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Shainy Mathew, the Biotek Forum Faculty in Charge. 

Consequences of HIV infection was communicated to the community through MIME  by 3rd Sem Biotechnology Students in front of Administrative Block, later in the evening.
