Women Empowerment through Technical Education

An invited talk on Women Empowerment through Technical Education was organised in P A College of Engineering, Mangalore on April 18th 2017.

Dr. Shabistan Gaffar, former chairperson of girls education, National Commission for Minority Educational Institution was the invited resource person for the day.

Dr. Sharmila Kumari, Head of the Dept. of Computer Science said that women have a lot of role to play in the society and that women empowerment marks the progress of the nation.

The resource person Dr. Shabistan Gaffar made known that India has a rich history of empowered women and that Article 15 of the constitution empowers women which many of the women are unaware of . She said that women empowerment refers to the ability of the women to enjoy the rights using the available resources. She gave a call for all the parents to trust their daughters and instill confidence in them.

Executive Director of P. A. Educational Trust appreciated the talents of the women folks. He highlighted that there exist 2.1 million women NGOs in India. Dr. Abdul Sharief, Principal, P.A. College of Engineering shared his views about women empowerment. Director of MBA Dept., Director Academics, Prof. Surfraz Hasim, Dean Student Affairs, Dr. Antony A J and head of  various departments.were present. Dr. Shailet Mathew of Biotechnology Dept. welcomed the gathering and Prof. Sharmada of Mathematics Dept. proposed the vote of thanks.
