The student of NSS unit of PACE
participated in the National Integration Camp for Youth organized by National
Youth Project, New Delhi. It was held at the Yenepoya University, Mangalore,
Karnataka from 1st may 2017 to 7th may 2017. They represented the state of
Karnataka along with 70 other representatives from various parts of Karnataka.
The Camp witnessed a gathering of 395 Youth and Officials from 19 different
States from the likes of Arunacal Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu to
name a few. The Camp was headed by the National Youth Project Director Dr. SN
Subba Rao.
Everyday the NSS volunteers had a
Prarthana at 4.45am which began their day. This was then followed by Physical
Training, Yoga, and Self Defence techniques under the guidance of Ms. Pyari
Jaan. This was followed by flag hoisting, discharge of duties to the various
State groups and Breakfast.
Later the volunteers rendered their
helping hand in community service Shram Sanskaar under which various activities
such as painting old School buildings at Kumpala and Kuttar, cleaning the Ullal
Beach and road CleanUp Drive was conducted.
Everyday activities included Language
Exchange Programs, Guest Talks, Skill Development, Games, Marching Drill and
Cuture Exchange. These activities exposed the youth to the culture of different
states and also promoted National Integration.
As part of the camp, the volunteers
participated in the National Integration Rally conducted on 5th May from
Milagris Church Mangalore to Forum Fiza Mall. The camp also gave them the
opportunity to visit Dharmasthala to study the various Social and Rural
Upliftment Program undertaken by the trust. The campers had a campus tour and
also visited the sacred Dharmasthala temple.
The National Integration Camp concluded
on 7th May 2017 with the closing ceremony which was attended by many
dignitaries and saw a colorful display of cultural array.
