Interactive Session with Industrialists & Entrepreneurs

An interactive session with Industrialists & Entrepreneurs was organized by PACE NEXT Alumni Association in the presence of the Dr. Ramis M.K, Principal, on 3rd June, 2023, at Hotel Empire, Koramangala, Bengaluru.
The session was attended by the college representatives, alumni, and various experts from industries and Entrepreneurs.
Following topics were discussed:
  • Discussion on CDAC Courses for consideration by VTU for the award of minor degree was done.
  • To set up a Centre of Excellence by Industry in the college was proposed.
  • Scope of non CS branches and strategy to improve was discussed.
  • Blended mode of study was proposed: Teaching technical courses for non CS students to upgrade the skills of students.
  • A proposal was raised to invite Experts from industry to the college and to deliver talks that will make students aware about what is expected from industry. A mail to be sent by PACE officials to the members present which will be positively attended. Mr. Faisal, CPOD Head PACE to coordinate the same. 
  • Project: A special care shall be taken while finalizing the student’s projects. The projects shall be selected such that it is in-line with industry. The members will give inputs on the same while finalization of projects. 
  • The concept of Business model, trans-disciplinary courses, pedagogical approaches and Professor of practice were discussed.
  • One pf the expert explained the importance of Learn-Unlearn-Relearn concept.
  • Importance of Internship for students, how to choose internship course, and how to provide internship was discussed briefly. 
  • MIA-NGO came forward to arrange Internship/Hands on experience for students. They will be providing the list of who can provide internships on various fields. In this regard, a small team shall be made from the college to interact with MIA for planning and implementing the internship.
  • MIA coordinator requested the college representatives to visit their , on Tuesday evening,  for further discussions and future planning.
  • An expert agreed to arrange a visit by college representatives to Manipal Banking Academy for a case study purpose.
  • An expert agreed to help the college to connect with Bosch.
  • One the expert urged the college representatives to implement faculty sensitization program.
  • A request to guide PACE faculty members was raised. Experts responded positively. They agreed to have program in online mode. This shall be planned & arranged by college.
  • Importance and impact of up skilling the faculty members by undergoing various courses were discussed.
  • A suggestion was put forth to have periodic meetings online/offline as and when required.
